Since I still had some left over Loquats and Water Chestnut from cooking the Lotus Root, Water Chestnut & Loquat Soup. I might as well use the remaining ingredients for another sweet soup or so called herbal tea. This soup is to clear heat and detoxify the body as the Honeysuckle(金银花) expels heat, removes poison and clams the liver. So for those who always stay-up late at night or loves to eat fried food, this is a good soup to neutralise your body.Ingredients:
20g Honeysuckle(金银花)
20g Hang Chrysanthemums(杭菊)
4-6 Loquats, depending on the size(枇杷果)
10-12 Water Chestnuts, depending on the size(马蹄)
6-8 Candied Dates(蜜枣)
Methods:
1. Wash honeysuckle and Hang Chrysanthemums.
2. Wash and peel loquats then cut into halves or leave it as whole.
3. Peel water chestnuts and wash.
4. Wash candied dates.
5. Bring suitable amount of water(about 1.5 - 2 litres) to boil.
6. Add all ingredients and bring to boil again then simmer on low heat for about 1 hour and serve.
