Steam Loofah In Two Flavour

Suddenly these few days, I started to have this craving on eating Steam Dishes. So Today’s Menu again is base on steaming. What I am using today is Loofah, a very good and nutritious vegetable that is good for complexion as well as helps in detoxify the body.


In this dish, I am using Loofah to make two different kinds of flavour in one dish. I divide the Loofah into half and stuff each half with Pork Minced mixture and Squid Paste. After steaming, the Loofah gave up a very sweet sauce and it taste very refreshing and light. It’s indeed a very easy and good dish.

Ingredients:
1 Big Loofah(丝瓜)
150g Pork Mince
1 Tablespoon Dried Shrimps, soaked and finely diced
2 Medium Mushroom, soaked and finely diced
1 Teaspoon Minced Garlic
1 Tablespoon Minced Carrot
150g Squid Paste
1 Teaspoon Of Black Flossy Moss(发菜)
Some Cornflour For Dusting

Seasonings:
1/2 Teaspoon Of Light Soy Sauce
1/4 Teaspoon Of Cornflour

Methods:
1. Wash Loofah, removed the skin and cut into diagonal section. Scoop out the seeds and let it be hollow then dust with some cornflour.
2. Mixed pork minced, dried shrimps, mushroom, garlic and seasoning together to form a paste.
3. Stuff pork mixture to half of the Loofah sections then sprinkler some diced carrot on top.
4. Wash and soaked Black Flossy Moss until soft then mixed into the squid paste with 1/4 Teaspoon of cornflour and stir till it became well mixed thru.
5. Stuff the squid paste to the rest of the Loofah sections and steam for 7-10 minutes or until cooked through.
6. Removed and placed the Loofah on another plate, heat up the sauce and thicken it with some cornflour mixture and served hot. Posted by Picasa
